Platform Rocks is a comprehensive cluster management toolkit that simplifies the deployment and management of large-scale Linux clusters. Based on NPACI-Rocks, Platform Rocks is a hybrid software stack featuring a blend of market-leading OSS technologies and proprietary products. The result is a simple and easy-to-use toolkit enabling rapid assembly and management of massive Linux-based computing infrastructures.

Platform Rocks has 'base' components and optional modules packaged in Rocks 'Rolls'. Rolls are pre-packaged components that are tested and configured for the Rocks cluster. Typically a customer will choose the Rocks Rolls that are appropriate for their work.

Rocks Rolls provide flexibility - additional third party components and tools that may be added to the Rocks cluster without changing the 'core' components.
